Our Story

The concept of Utubora School sparked a vision in our mind, a vision of young, brilliant minds from my local village immersing themselves in their studies as naturally as fish take to water. We saw a cohort of youthful talent embracing Information Technology, forging connections with the wider world.

We pictured a society that had banished ignorance, its sons and daughters securing employment and contributing to community development, no longer overly dependent on “foreigners.” Utubora School is a sanctuary for nurturing and cultivating raw talent. It is a haven that welcomes the vulnerable, firmly rooted in the belief that poverty should not be a barrier to receiving quality education.

Lack of funds

The lack of funds poses a profound challenge for the schools, impacting various aspects of our operations and overall effectiveness. The school was established with the noble aim of providing education to underprivileged communities.

Deaths of breadwinners

Occasionally we have had deaths of breadwinners of the family who were paying fees. After the death of the parent, we had no choice but to maintain them within our budgets and the system is overwhelmed

Covid-19 pandemics

COVID-10 de-established the financial status of the school to a level of exhausting all the savings. To mitigate against future eventualities with the availability of funds to set up a project for the school.

Security

Our compound is somehow porous hence need to secure it with a perimeter wall so that the safety of students and property is guaranteed
